It’s an issue in their first language after the exhausting media training exercises, but Halep manages to leave little to the imagination in a language she hasn’t even fully grasped.
Her voice is monotonous; quiet, level and unwavering regardless of the emotion she attempts to convey. It should really be dull and uninteresting, but the sincerity dripping from every syllable is so clear that it has the effect of the complete opposite.”
